Wireless PPG helmet with communication and active noise reduction

The NGC-2300W set is based on a certified (EN 966:2000) NG series air sports helmet, the conformity assessment of which was performed by a Polish notified body (ITS Warsaw). The helmet is available in one of six sizes and six colors. A transparent or darkened visor is optionally included with the helmet.

The helmet is equipped with (rigidly or snap-mounted) hearing protection earcups equipped with a dynamic microphone placed on a gooseneck and a built-in active noise reduction (ANR) system. The active electronics are powered by a 2200mA Li-Pol cell providing several dozen hours of uninterrupted operation. The ANR module is charged with a voltage of 5V via the USB-C socket outside the earcups and the included USB-A > USB-C cable. The system is controlled by a single push button located on the right earpiece, and the battery status is controlled by a strip of four LED indicators embedded in the side of the right earcup. A 4-pole 3.5mm jack socket for connecting the COM4 communication module has been built into the right earcup.

The COM4 communication module is attached to a metal clip on the back of the helmet. The clip design allows the module to be disconnected from the set, e.g. to charge it or secure it for transport. The COM4 module is responsible for wireless pilot-passenger and/or pilot-radio transceiver communication, as well as for pairing the set with mobile devices such as a smartphone, tablet, or GPS. The COM4 design is based on a Qualcomm DSP processor, the specification of which provides, among other things, Bluetooth 5.1 communication, voice assistant, active sound cancellation (CVC - Clear Voice Capture), FM radio and simultaneous, intercom voice communication with up to 4 other crew members at a distance of up to 1500m. In addition, the COM4 module has a built-in 850mAh lithium battery guaranteeing a minimum of 15h of talk time and 300h of standby time, a USB-C charging socket, a 4-pole 3.5mm jack socket for connecting headphones and a microphone and a waterproof housing in the IP65 standard.

Wireless connection of the NGC-2300W set with the radio transceiver is provided by the RAD10 module. This module is available in two connector standards - K (Kenwood, NAVCOMM) and M (Motorola, Yaesu). The set includes a wireless PTT (Push-To-Talk) button with Velcro tape for its installation and a lanyard to prevent loss. The transceiver is powered by an internal 400mA cell, and the PTT button controlling the transmission is powered by a 300mA cell. Both guarantee several hours of operation. Charging the batteries in both devices at the same time is provided by a special cable terminated with a USB-A connector included in the set.
